How do I train my cat to stay inside?

 Indoors In this busy world cat owners are worried about their cat's safety, especially from traffic. One insurance policy is to keep your cat inside at night.

There are many advantages to keeping a cat inside at night. The Cat Protection Society recently found that over a four week study of cats brought into their clinic, 94% of accidents occurred at night.

Cats which are confined at night are safer from accidents, especially cars, are less of a nuisance for the neighbours and hunt less.

Some cats, such as those living in apartments, will even need to live inside all the time. But if you are going to keep your cat inside, it is important to follow these guidelines.

All cats must have their needs met - fresh water, food, a litter tray, and a warm, draught free place to sleep.

But in addition, All cats are naturally curious and playful and love to explore. If these needs are not met, they may become bored, destructive and develop behavioural problems. Meeting these needs is called providing an enriched environment.
