My name's Tyke (CatMatch
spokes-cat) and here is my story.
When I was just a couple of days
old, my siblings and I were dumped outside a vet hospital in a box. Luckily, a
kind vet nurse took us in and looked after us until we grew strong enough to
find new humans to care for us.
Soon, some humans came to visit
us as they were looking for a feline to keep their cat, Lu, company. As soon as
Angie held me I started to purr and settled into her arms. I wanted to stay
there, but this wasn't to be as my brother insisted on climbing up onto her lap
also. I started to worry she would take him home instead of me. As fate would
have it, they couldn't bear to separate my brother Pink and I, so they took us
both.
The first night we arrived in our
new home, Lu kept a watchful eye on us and let us cuddle-up to him for comfort
and warmth. An excellent game (still an old favorite), was to sneak up behind
him and try to pounce on his tail. Although I loved my new home and my two
feline companions, I was a nervous young kitten. Luckily, my humans Angie and
John were very kind and with gentle perseverance and patience, helped me become
the spokes-cat I am today.
These days I enjoy cuddles,
wrestling with Lu and Pink and helping the humans by jumping on the bed every
time they try to change the linen (my specialty). Recently a new house-mate
named Hoby, moved in making it a contented 4 cat, 2 human household.
Oh, before I go, here are a few
pointers. A cat's human should provide these key ingredients: love, chin rubs,
lap-sitting sessions, warmth and good food - not necessarily in that order! I
hope you're one of the lucky ones who finds your human soon.
